Our most recent Co-Cocoa Chairs were Carolyn Lu and Sam Amey-Gonzalez. Their primary job is to fill up the pot, turn it on, and then yell Cocoa down the 4e hall. They are often joined by other people who share their enthusiasm for liquid chocolatey goodness. Cocoa Chairs are chosen at the Fall Budget meeting. Usually two freshmen are elected by hall, with the exception of the Fall of 2013 when three freshmen -Andres Perez, Lorraine Wong, and Rachel Aviles- showed superior greatness and talent for the task. It is not rare for cocoa chairs to campaign for the position, as was done in Fall 2012. They are traditionally freshmen because frosh have nothing better to do with their time and are good for menial labor.

Cocoa Chair Campaigns

In fact, freshmen have been campaigning for the much-coveted job of calling cocoa for many a year. Methods include hall email spamming, posters, buttons, personalized tshirts, blimps circling East Campus, and bribery via baked goods. The last method was seen most effective in Fall 2014 and it is projected that this will continue to be the case in Fall 2015.
