Many recipes in this cookbook are not technically cooking because they do not use the stove or oven.

Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream

Tang Ice Cream

A thugfest classic.

Ingredients

  • Light cream
  • Tang
  • Mandarin orange slices
  • LN2

Instructions
Mix ingredients in large bowl, add LN2.

Butter Pecan Ice Cream

A culinary surprise.

Ingredients

  • Light cream
  • Artificial maple syrup
  • LN2

Instructions
Heat light cream and syrup in a medium saucepan over low heat until the syrup is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Mix in LN2.

Chocolate Ice Cream

Don't forget the sugar.

Ingredients

  • Light cream
  • Cocoa mix
  • Sugar
  • LN2

Instructions
Mix ingredients in large bowl, add LN2.

Eggnog Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • Eggnog
  • LN2

Directions
Mix in a large bowl.

Dry Ice Cream

Dry ice may be used instead of LN2 in preparing ice cream. The process is slower and less impressive to watch but carbonates the ice creams and yields a much smoother texture. Simply prepare the batter as directed then stir in dry ice pellets. Add the dry ice slowly so that the batter doesn't foam up over the side of the bowl. Keep adding dry ice and stirring until the desired consistency is reached. Wait until all the dry ice is gone before serving.

Tang Dry Ice Cream

The original carbonated ice cream.

Ingredients

  • Light cream
  • Tang
  • Mandarin orange slices
  • Dry ice
  • LN2 (optional)

Instructions
Mix ingredients in a large bowl. Be sure dry ice is completely gone before serving. If desired, part of the freezing can be done with LN2.

Mojito Dry Ice Cream

This subtle, carbonated blend of mint and lime with a hint of Tang is a new favorite.

Ingredients

  • Light cream
  • Master of Mixers brand Mojito mix
  • Strawberry tang
  • Dry ice

Direction
Mix ingredients thoroughly in a large bowl, adding dry ice slowly until the desired consistency is reached. Be sure the dry ice is completely gone before serving.

Lime Dry Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • Light cream
  • 1 can Limeaid concentrate
  • 1 can pineapple
  • Dry ice

Directions
Break up pineapple chunks if desired. Mix ingredients thoroughly in a large bowl, adding dry ice slowly until the desired consistency is reached. Be sure the dry ice is completely gone before serving.

Carbonated Fruit

Fruit is carbonated with dry ice in a soda bottle.

Ingredients

  • Fruit, grapes are recommended
  • Dry ice

Instructions
Fill an undamaged 3 liter soda bottle 1/4 full of fruit. Add 2 pellets of dry ice. Place the bottle somewhere nobody will get hurt if it explodes and wait at least an hour. Open carefully and serve. If desired, the bottle may be placed in the freezer to increase the solubility of CO2.

Dippen Dots

It's never worked, but...

Ingredients

  • Ice cream batter
  • LN2
  • Dry ice

Instructions
Prepare the ice cream batter using one of the above recipes. Fill a tall flask with LN2. Drop the batter into the LN2, making sure that individual drops freeze and do not congeal. When the flask is full, empty the dippen dots into another container and store in dry ice. This process needs to be done many times to obtain a reasonable quantity of dippen dots. Keep the dippen dots on dry ice for a day to allow them to warm up, then serve.
