Majored in courses 5 through 9, tortures small furry animals for a living, and is working on enslaving humanity by building the Matrix.

Seriously though, Eric considered several different major and minor selections before graduating with a double major in courses 6-2 (EECS) and 9 (Brain and Cognitive Science) in 2003, studying signal theory, hardware design, and systems neuroscience. He currently works in the Wilson Lab at the Picower Center for Learning and Memory at MIT, where he is simultaneously pursuing an MEng in course 6 and a PhD in course 9. His major project is Soma ("System for On-line Multiunit Acquisition"), a hardware system that uses FPGAs to analyze neural signals from a rat in real time.
